Finding the right photographer for your wedding is one of the most important steps in the planning process. This might be obvious for us arty-fartsy types, but it should be for you too! They are responsible for immortalising your wedding day for years…decades…centuries to come! No pressure. But seriously, a good photographer should not only be able to capture the moment, but the emotions behind that moment. Flipping through your wedding album when you’re old and grey, let’s face it, you want to see the love… and perhaps the table display you worked so hard on. In a time when marriage or a wedding is no longer necessary to create a family unit or loving partnership, photographs are a reminder, a celebration, of your decision to walk down the aisle regardless.
One photographer who understands this perfectly is Sarah Gawler. She believes that “photography and memory are intrinsically bound. Not only do photographs inspire reverie and encourage us to remember moments from our past, they also play an important role as we piece together our family and social histories.” Her photographs are natural and beautifully framed, in a style that is uniquely her own. And for those of you who can’t wait to get the memory-making started, Sarah also offers “Love Shoots” for the Mr. and Mrs. to be. Check out some of her past collections here.
In honour of The Smoochies launch, I’ve found some of my favourite “smoochies” that Sarah has captured.
