Lola Kitten-Heel Pumps for J. Crew

While flipping through J. Crew’s Summer 2014 Magazine, polka dots, bright colours and sky-high stems caught my eye. Well, it was hard for them not to! Meet Sophia Webster, the London based shoe-designer who knows how to put the fun in funky. After graduating from the Royal College of Art, she worked as Nicholas Kirkwood’s first-ever assistant for two years before launching her own collection. She’s now in every place a shoe-loving Carrie Bradshaw type would ever look: Neimans, Saks, Harvey Nichols, Net-a-Porter, Bergdorf, Colette…among others.

For her latest collaboration, she’s teamed up with J. Crew, one of my all time favourite brands, to create a glamorous yet playful collection of heels. Think bold prints and vibrant colours. Very London. Very cool. Check out all of her amazing designs on J. Crew’s website.

“From the Mind of Sophia Webster”

Obviously, I love colour! I’ve always been drawn to pink in particular; it epitomises girliness  and fun. My sister and I grew up competitive disco dancing and used to wear very colourful florescent outfits with sequins, diamantes, and paneling. Who knows? Maybe they’ll inspire a future collection. At the moment, though, I’m inspired by the films that I grew up with, like Clueless and Edward Scissorhands, and also 90s music like Aaliyah and TLC. But to be honest, my team and I are more like the Spice Girls – opinionated, outspoken and British!
